Festivals of India
‘The greatness of a culture can be found in its festivals.’
India is a secular country having diverse religions, languages, customs and traditions. This is the reason why Indians celebrate many festivals throughout the year. Festivals make us forget our cultural and religious differences. They unite people, and they come together for the sole purpose of celebration and happiness.
Other than that, festivals also help us embrace our culture and religion. People look forward to festivals all-round the year. Festivals spark joy and give people something to look forward to. India celebrates many festivals like Christmas, Eid, Diwali, Holi and many more.
During these festivals, people just keep their work aside, and meet their relatives, friends and families. There are gatherings and parties, where they exchange gifts and wishes. We all wear new clothes, decorate our houses, etc.
Festivals totally rejuvenate us and then these are memories which are stored in our mind, and revivify us to resume our normal routine again. We continue to take care of all our day-to-day responsibilities with hope – hope for the festivals in the following year – and then again experience the same excitement once the festivals are round the corner.
